Aam Olas Ep 216: Two Cousins Killed in Takht Bhai, Case Solved

In Aam Olas Ep 216, I presented the details of a blind double-murder case that shocked the residents of Takht Bhai, Yakh Kohi.

Takht Bhai has been at the centre of multiple crises. Aam Olas previously reported on the ATM fraud case from this same area, pointing to deeper law-and-order failures across KPK.

On August 29, unknown individuals shot dead two cousins, Habib-ur-Rehman and Yasir, on Madi Baba Road. The attack raised fear and uncertainty in the area, as the attackers initially left no clear trail.

Police Investigation and Breakthrough

Police officials stated that they took the case seriously from the start.

DSP Takht Bhai Circle Bashir Ahmed, during a press briefing, stated the following:

  • The incident involved targeted gunfire
  • The police registered an FIR immediately.
  • DPO Dr. Zahidullah directed the formation of a special investigation team.

During the crime-scene examination, police recovered:

  • Bullet shells
  • Police abandoned a motorcycle some distance from the scene.

This motorcycle became a key lead in the investigation.

Arrests and Recovery of Weapons

Following technical tracking and field intelligence, police traced the motorcycle to its owner.

Police arrested two suspects after reaching Lund Khur. Officers recovered two pistols from the suspects. According to the police, the recovered weapons matched the bullet shells found at the scene. The investigation has been completed, and the accused will be presented before the court.

Police Statement to Aam Olas

When questioned during the episode, the police explained that:

  • They received reports of gunfire in Yakh Kohi
  • Upon arrival, they found two cousins dead
  • Evidence collection and forensic matching played a crucial role

Police emphasized that the case was solved through material evidence, not assumptions.

The Accused’s Version

During the episode, the accused also shared their account, which differs from the police narrative.

They claimed that:

  • They were passing through the area
  • A group of 5–10 people, including the deceased, stopped them
  • They were searched and allegedly insulted
  • The situation escalated, and firing began

According to the accused, they fired back in self-defense and were unaware that the two cousins were fatally injured.

Police have stated that these claims will be evaluated by the court alongside physical evidence.

Conflicting Narratives, One Legal Outcome

The police version and the accused’s statements do not align.

Now:

  • The evidence has been submitted
  • The investigation is marked complete
  • The final judgment rests with the court of law

As noted in the episode, regardless of legal outcomes, unresolved hostility often leaves lasting social consequences.

Aam Olas: A Warning About Weapons and Anger

In this episode, I emphasized a critical point:

A weapon never brings peace to its owner.

One impulsive moment can:

  • End lives
  • Destroy families
  • Create lifelong regret

Final Reflection

Patience and restraint save lives.
Anger and weapons destroy them.

Before taking any irreversible step, think twice, because one wrong decision can define an entire lifetime.
