Aam Olas Ep 295: One Bullet, A Lifetime of Grief in Charsadda

In Aam Olas Ep 295, Yousaf Jan Utmanzai visited Charsadda, Nawakalay, to meet a family whose life was shattered in a matter of seconds.

A single bullet.
No reason identified.
No explanation yet.

But the consequences are permanent.

This episode is not just about a killing; it is about how one act of violence destroys the peace of an entire family for a lifetime.

Aam Olas Ep 295

What Happened in Nawakalay, Charsadda

The name of the deceased is Noshad.

He was a taxi driver, earning an honest living to support his family. A few days ago, while returning home after work, he was shot by unknown individuals.

Noshad died on the spot.

As of now:

  • No motive has been identified
  • The killers are unknown
  • Police are searching for the proclaimed offenders

But for the family, justice feels distant — and survival feels urgent.

A Family Left Behind

Noshad’s family consists of six individuals, including:

  • His father, over 80 years old
  • His wife
  • Three young children

The elder son is only 14–15 years old.

Noshad was the only earning member of the household.

Today, the responsibility of the entire family has fallen on the shoulders of an elderly father who can barely take care of himself.

Life After the Tragedy

The family lives in a rented house.

There is:

  • No regular income
  • No savings to rely on
  • No immediate support system

The children are too young to work.
The father is too old to work.

This is the reality many families face after such incidents — a sudden fall into uncertainty, fear, and helplessness.

A Repeated Message: Patience in Pain

On almost every visit to families affected by violence, I remind them of patience — not because pain disappears, but because faith becomes the only strength left.

Violence does not end with the sound of a gunshot.
It echoes for years in:

  • Empty rooms
  • Hungry children
  • Silent nights

This is the cost no one counts.
