Aam Olas Ep 294: The Graveyard Reminder We All Ignore

Aam Olas Episode 294 is unlike the usual episodes. This time, Yousaf Jan Utmanzai did not visit a grieving family or a crime scene. Instead, I walked into a graveyard. Not to scare people, but to remind them.

To remind them of what remains at the end of this materialistic race.

Aam Olas Ep 294

What Do We Really Take With Us?

Houses.
Money.
Land.
Status.
Power.

All of it stays behind.

In this episode, the purpose was simple:
To remind people that nothing follows us except our deeds.

The graveyard is the one place where every illusion breaks. No difference between the rich and the poor. No titles. No authority.

Only accountability.

Ethics: What We Are Losing as a Society

During this episode, I spoke with a police officer about the nature of social cases they now receive. His response was deeply concerning.

He shared a recent incident:

An elderly woman came to the police station crying.
She said her son, a government officer, lives in the same house with her — yet he built a wall inside the home and told her not to cross into his space.

A mother.
Cut off inside her own house.

The officer said clearly:

We are not only facing legal problems — we are facing an ethical collapse.

Respect for Elders: A Forgotten Command

Islam does not separate worship from behavior.

Respecting parents and elders is not optional — it is a command.

The officer explained that caring for elders is not just about kindness; it is about earning peace:

  • Peace in this world
  • Peace in the hereafter

Allah promises ease to those who obey His commands.

But when ethics disappear, so does peace.

A Reflection on Death and the Hereafter

No living person has experienced the hereafter — that is a truth.

Yet history and experience show something powerful.

Many cemetery caretakers testify that:

  • Some bodies turn to dust within years
  • While others, belonging to those known for obedience and righteousness, remain intact even after decades

These are reminders — not claims of superiority, but signs for reflection.

Death does not treat everyone the same.

A Message for the Living

This episode delivers a quiet but strong message:

  • Stay away from wrongdoing
  • Visit your deceased loved ones
  • Pray for them
  • Pray for yourself

The graveyard humbles the heart and corrects intentions.

Lahad Mung Yadai — The Grave Awaits Us All

No matter how far we run, the destination is the same.

Aam Olas Episode 294 exists to pause the noise of daily life and ask one question:

When everything is taken away — what will speak for us?

May Allah guide us to correct our actions.
May He soften our hearts.
And may we remember, before we are remembered.
