Hawkers are the well-known individuals of any society and we have encounters with them almost every day. We usually see them selling articles or we can say newspapers placed on their head or in their arms. The life of a hawker is incredibly tough as he has to wake up early in the morning around 4-5 AM to collect the papers and to sell it. They have to suffer all day to earn some livelihood. In the start of the day he is fresh like the newspapers he is carrying but in the noon his anxiety rises as he has to earn and bring some food for their family.

In this episode of Aam Olas, Yousaf Jan Utmanzai visited a place in Peshawar where the hawkers collects their articles or newspapers. Yousaf Jan Utmanzai mentioned that the life of a hawker is indeed tough, also full of troubles and each day the life of hawkers is getting worst and the owner are becoming rich or we can say billionaires. Yousaf Jan Utmanzai also interviewed some of the hawkers so that the viewers could have an idea that how the hawkers are living their life and whether it worth arguing with them for just few rupees. Yousaf Jan Utmanzai interviewed some of the hawkers and asked them how their life is going. The hawker reply was the same as we have mentioned above in the paragraph.  One of the hawker was in this profession for almost 20-22 years but he said still we haven’t seen any positive shift in our lives nothing has changed even facing more problems compared to the past.

When Yousaf Jan Utmanzai interviewed another hawker by the name of Tahir. Tahir who is in his 50 or 60. Tahir first used to go for collection of newspaper with his father but after the demise of his father all the responsibilities were put on his shoulders. Tahir has completed his bachelor’s in 1992 and since that time he is in hawker profession which in total makes 26-28 years of his experience which is obviously too much time and he was facing the same consequences as the others were facing. Like the toughness of life and lacking of other basic facilities.



The life of hawkers are too tough as they are facing all the possible problems in the society and have the worst condition even if some allowance are allocated for them they never get those . In today’s world majority of the people goes for E-Paper or in other words they read newspapers on internet. So the society does not need hawkers anymore which are making severe problems.
