An orphan is described as a child whom both parents has died, but the UN has also labeled those children’s as orphans who have lost only single parent. Orphans are the vulnerable community part of any society as the Terrorists groups can use them or could be exposed to child labor or human traffickers.
In this episode of Aam Olas, Yousaf Jan Utmanzai visited an orphan complex by the name of Mercy Pak Orphan Complex. Mercy Pak is a Nonprofit Organization which is established in 1994; in KPK Peshawar & later registered in 2005. In this orphan’s complex some of the children’s have lost both of their parents and some have lost a single parent. There are 540 to 600 students by now, who are enrolled. This orphan complex is providing all the basic facilities to these orphans, which includes Food, Shelter in the form of hostel, clothing and even pay for their transport when these students go to their homes on vacations.
This Organization depends upon the donation. This Organization is now facing problem regarding financial support. It’s been a year by now since the donation has stopped and the orphan complex is facing a lot of problems. The monthly expenditure of one orphan is almost 1 Lac and there is round about 600 students, by doing the basic mathematics you will the idea of it.
