Zarsanga! the women who don’t need any introduction. She is one of the famous singers from Kpk and at her youngest age, she started singing and would go to perform on Radio Pakistan. She has visited and performed in many countries around the world like UK, USA, Germany, France, and many more and made Pakistan proud.
Many would think that like in other countries the artists are respected and especially the senior ones are supported by the government but things here in Pakistan are different. The legend Zarsanga is living in a tent-like nomad with her offspring.
In this episode of Aam Olas, Yousaf Jan Utmanzai visited Kohat in the region of Kpk and met the legend singer of Pashto Folklore Zarsanga because he was told about the situation she is in right now. In the video, you may see that the famous Zarsanga who a year ago performed in the Coke Studio is living in a tent-like nomad with her offspring and none bothered to visit her and help her out.
Zarsanga’s family consists of 200 to 250 people and zarsanga alone is taking care of them from clothes to shoes and from food to health. She has 5 sons and 4 daughters, and all are married even her grandchildren. The majority of the family members are artists but due to Covid-19, their livelihood is in the worst condition. At first, they had one or two houses but later on, they lost everything and are now forced to live the life of a nomad.
Zarsanga’s son Shahzada asked the viewers to buy zarsanga at least a 5-marla house so that she can leave with a bit of comfort as she is too old now. In the end, Yousaf Jan Utmanzai mentioned that yes do help zarsanga but don’t forget about her offspring and help them out as much you can because they are all artists, and artists don’t deserve such a life of misery, and zarsanag lives in that tenet for them, so if you admire Zarsanga help her in her tough times.
